<abstract xml:lang="ru">

The article analyzes the consequences of globalization for agriculture in the global South in the context of modern neo-Marxist economic thought, including the ruin of the traditional peasantry, the expansion of corporate agribusiness and the aggravation of environmental problems. The discussion on the essence of the agrarian issue in the context of globalization, as well as proposals for its solution, including support for small farmers, land reforms and the transition to sustainable agricultural models, is considered. Special attention is paid to the role of the peasantry in the modern economy and its potential as an alternative to transnational agribusiness.
