The relevance of the study is due to the sharp aggravation of the foreign policy and economic situation caused by unprecedented sanctions pressure on the Russian Federation from unfriendly countries in the period 2022-2024. These measures had a systemic impact on the country's financial system, undermining the stability of traditional regulatory mechanisms and requiring the formation of new instruments for public legal financial security. In the context of the digitalization of the economy, cross-border capital mobility and increasing dependence on external financial institutions, the state is forced to rethink the concept of financial sovereignty and adapt the mechanism for ensuring financial security to new realities. The purpose of the study is to analyze and update the content of the public legal mechanism for ensuring financial security of the Russian Federation, taking into account the challenges of 2021-2024, as well as to formulate proposals for its improvement based on current regulatory, institutional and methodological data. The research uses general scientific and private scientific methods: comparative legal analysis, system-structural method, formal legal analysis, as well as the method of forecasting and modeling legal consequences. The results of the study include the identification of three key problems of the mechanism: the fragmentation of legislation, the intersection of competencies of authorities and the lack of unified methods for evaluating effectiveness. The proposed solution is to develop and approve a Financial Security Strategy integrated into the national security system. In conclusion, it is emphasized that only a systematic, strategically verified approach combining legal certainty, institutional coordination and methodological clarity will ensure the stability of the financial system in the context of geopolitical instability and digital transformation.
