Digital Transformation of Higher Education: Challenges for Faculty and Students
Abstract and keywords
Abstract:
The digital transformation of higher education is fundamentally changing traditional educational formats, the roles of participants in educational interactions, and the very nature of teaching. This article examines the key challenges facing faculty and students in the context of accelerated digitalization: the need to master new technologies, the restructuring of teaching and learning methods, increased cognitive and emotional stress, issues of digital inequality, data protection, and academic integrity. Particular attention is paid to the imbalance between technical capabilities and the pedagogical readiness of participants in the process, as well as the risk of a "technological imperative"—the implementation of tools for the sake of tools. It is emphasized that successful digital transformation is only possible with a humanistic approach, in which technology serves the development of the individual rather than replacing pedagogical interaction.
