The article examines the theoretical and practical aspects of effective strategic planning as the basis for the sustainable development of a company in an unstable external environment and the digital transformation of the economy. The role of strategic planning as a system-forming element of management, ensuring the alignment of long-term goals of the organization with economic, social and environmental priorities, is substantiated. The key factors and tools influencing the effectiveness of strategic planning, including modern analytical methods, digital technologies and indicator systems, are revealed. Special attention is paid to the issues of adaptability of strategies and the need to adjust them in the face of uncertainty. Based on the analysis of practical aspects of the formation of a sustainable development strategy, a simplified approach to quantifying the effectiveness of strategic planning is proposed, based on summing up the effects of strategic projects, taking into account correction factors for key stages of implementation. It is shown that this approach makes it possible to increase the validity of management decisions, ensure comparability of results and identify problem areas of strategic management. It is concluded that the integration of the principles of sustainable development and formalized methods of performance assessment into the strategic planning system is a prerequisite for ensuring long-term sustainability and competitiveness of the company.
