This article examines the adaptation of the Just-in-Time (JIT) concept to the conditions of defense industry enterprises (DIC) fulfilling state defense orders (SDOs). It is shown that classical JIT implementation approaches, focused on inventory and cycle time reduction, require significant fine-tuning to address the stringent requirements for SDO fulfillment deadlines, supply reliability, and defense product quality. An integrated JIT index (JRI) of military production readiness is proposed, combining four standardized indicators: on-time delivery accuracy (SOT), inventory management efficiency for critical items (ZEF), supply chain reliability (REL), and quality of product delivery (QLT). The article describes the substantive features of each indicator interpretation, provides an example of JRI calculation for a hypothetical DIC enterprise, and proposes an integrated model that simultaneously presents the JIT process system and the JRI index structure. It is shown that the use of JRI allows for a compact assessment of the maturity of a just-in-time system, taking into account the specific requirements of production and logistics readiness, and also serves as a tool for setting targets and monitoring the effectiveness of lean manufacturing implementation activities at defense enterprises.
