This article analyzes the labor shortage in Russia's defense industry as a key threat to economic security, exacerbated by global challenges, including sanctions, a demographic crisis, and a special military operation. The author examines the causes of the shortage, including demographic (aging population, low birth rate), migration (labor brain drain), educational (training mismatch with needs), and economic (low wages, inflation). The study discusses management strategies, including salary increases, retraining, youth recruitment, automation, and cooperation with universities, with examples from Russia (Rostec, Rosatom) and abroad (USA, Germany, China, Israel). A comprehensive approach to strengthening the defense industry's resilience to sanctions and ensuring defense capability is emphasized, with recommendations for monitoring and adaptation.
