The article is devoted to the study of pedagogical possibilities of digitalization of teaching mathematical modeling in the context of the development of analytical thinking and decision-making skills among students of economic fields of study. In the digital economy, there is an increasing need for specialists who are able to analyze complex socio-economic processes, work with data, and justify management decisions based on models and algorithms. The paper substantiates the role of mathematical modeling as a tool for the formation of analytical abilities, provided that digital educational technologies are integrated into the educational process. The results of a pedagogical experiment conducted among students of economics who study using an electronic educational environment and applied digital modeling tools are presented. It is shown that the use of digital platforms, analytical packages and professionally oriented tasks ensures a steady growth of the cognitive component of competence and improves the quality of solving economic cases. Practical recommendations for improving the methods of teaching mathematical modeling in the digital environment of higher education are formulated.
