Artificial Intelligence in Education: Opportunities, Risks, and Practical Scenarios
Abstract and keywords
Abstract:
This paper examines the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on education, highlighting both its potential benefits and risks. AI can significantly improve learning by automating assignment grading, generating educational materials, and providing learning analytics. However, its implementation also poses challenges, such as the spread of misinformation, reduced student autonomy, and copyright issues. A particular focus is placed on the system-activity approach: AI can serve as a tool for organizing active cognitive activity, but it requires built-in mechanisms for developing critical thinking. Recommendations are given on defining the purposes of AI use, establishing interaction rules, ensuring data protection, and transforming the teacher's role toward mentoring. The paper concludes that a balanced approach is needed to maximize AI's potential and minimize its risks.
