Abstract and keywords
Abstract:
Procrastination — the delaying of important tasks despite the awareness of negative consequences — is a common phenomenon among students and represents a significant problem affecting academic performance, psychological well-being, and personal development. The article examines procrastination as a multifaceted psychological phenomenon, its types (academic, everyday, neurotic), and the main causes: fear of failure, perfectionism, low self-regulation, lack of motivation, and emotional instability. Special attention is paid to corrective and preventive strategies that are effective in working with students: cognitive-behavioral techniques, time management methods, mindfulness practices, and the role of pedagogical support and reflective accompaniment. The article emphasizes the need for a comprehensive approach to overcoming procrastination, which combines individual work and the organization of a supportive educational environment.
